As a company that repairs and upgrades Apple Macs laptop and computers, we do work on newer iMacs. Newer models do require that each component (including the logic board) to be taken out prior getting to the computer memory (RAM) or the hard drive (Solid State Drive, M.2) for replacements or upgrades. It can be a difficult task for most people but we have done many times this kind of work. Most repair companies won’t take on this kind of work but we do. Prior bringing your iMac product to us, we strongly recommend that you don’t get the parts yourself because it has to be compatible. Contact us for a consultation and assessment so we can get you the correct parts since some Apple Macs models do require to get actual Apple parts. We will inform you if there are any issues that may arise. Plus, we do have the experience to take out each of the components to replace a keyboard on a MacBook Pro. This what set us apart from others.
